A Warsash man has been banned from the roads after riding a mobility scooter while drunk – and with more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
Peter Gerald Jarrett, 61, pleaded guilty to riding a Pride Colt mobility scooter – which has a top speed of around 6mph - along Warsash Road, with 197 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood on April 13.
The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.
Portsmouth magistrates disqualified Jarrett, of Sartoris Close, Warsash, from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.
He was also fined £50, and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 towards the Crown Prosecution Service costs.
