Police have issued a description of a man they would like to trace after a woman was subjected to an “inappropriate sexual remark” as she walked in a road in Locks Heath yesterday morning (September 10).
The woman, a 45-year-old from Fareham, was walking in Locks Heath Park Road at 9am when the man ran over to her and shouted the comment to her.
No physical contact was made by the man and no other incidents have been reported. But Hampshire Constabulary has asked for people to be aware of this incident and to report anything to police if they see a man matching his description.
He was described as:
- A white male with a tanned complexion
- Aged between 35 and 45 years of age
- Medium build
- 5ft 10in tall
- Short brown hair that was greying
- Wearing a waist-length jacket and dark trousers
When he ran away he sounded like he had heavy shoes that could have had studs on them
A police spokesman said: “It’s definitely one we’re keeping an eye on. We haven’t had any similar reports but the Safer Neighbourhood Teams are aware and will be patrolling the area as usual.
“We encourage anyone who has any information to contact 101.
“Just be aware of incidents like this and report anything suspicious to the police and we will follow it up.”
Locks Heath Junior School yesterday sent a message to the parents of their pupils warning them that incident had happened and urging them to reiterate the “stranger danger” warnings to their children.
