The owner of a flat in Locks Heath scared off two burglars trying to break into his property through the bathroom window.
Now police are hunting the two burglars – who were wearing hoodies – following the break in attempt at the ground floor flat in Celandine Avenue.
The burglary attempt took place between 3.45pm and 4.15pm on Sunday June 16 but police only issued an appeal for witnesses yesterday (June 24)
The suspects are described as both wearing hoodies and about 5ft 5ins tall. One was a man.
Investigating Officer, PC Tara Magnus, said: “We are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity of the crime to contact the police.
“It happened in broad daylight and possibly someone saw two people running away from the area during that time.
“Please make sure that you keep your premises secure even when you are home. Do not leave windows on the latch when leaving your property and keep valuables away from windows and doors. Please report any suspicious activity to police immediately if seen.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Magnus at Fareham CID by phoning 101. Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
