A 29-year-old man from Warsash has been disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £500 for getting behind the wheel while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
James Robert Dewane of Campion Close pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megane on Oakcroft Lane in Fareham on December 8 with 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Fareham magistrates also ordered him to a pay victim surcharge of £50 and £55 towards the Crown Prosecution Service costs.
