A 34-year-old Park Gate man has denied assaulting a man in Gosport.
Fareham magistrates heard that Daniel Philippe Nicholson was alleged to have hit Raymond Pope on the head outside a pub in Gosport with a single blow that caused the victim to be unconscious for 45 minutes.
Mr Pope has suffered vertigo and a sore neck since the incident on December 15 last year, the court heard.
Nicholson, of Hunts Pond Road, pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm to Mr Pope.
He opted for a trial to be heard at Fareham Magistrates’ Court. It has been set for a one and a half day trial on June 27 and June 28, starting at 10am.
Nicholson has been remanded on unconditional bail.
