If you don’t want trick or treaters knocking at your door police advise you put up a poster.

Hampshire Constabulary has urged people who do not want to be disturbed this Halloween to display a “No Trick or Treat” poster near their front door.

Hampshire Constabulary’s Neighbourhoods and Partnership lead Chief Inspector Jerry Patterson said they were not aiming to disrupt fun at Halloween, but urged those taking part to behave appropriately and be considerate of others.

He added: “Every year, Hampshire Constabulary’s force control room receives calls from people who have been frightened or disturbed by trick or treaters in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

“Tackling anti-social behaviour is a priority for Hampshire Constabulary and police officers will be targeting hotspot areas across the two counties during Halloween and Bonfire Night to ensure that people are respecting others in their local neighbourhood.”
